The Constitution of the Republic of Uganda (1995) is the overriding national legal framework for ensuring that the rights of children and the general population are protected. The Children (Amendment) Act, 2016 provides the overarching legal framework, articulating constitutional provisions on children and emphasizing the rights, protection, duties and responsibilities as contained in the UNCRC and the ACRWC.
